A5 The Shopping
Anna is seeing her friend Sophia in the town centre on Wednesday. They are walking on the street when Anna stops at a shop.
Sophia, guarda questa gonna. Ti piace?
“Sophia, look at this skirt. Do you like it?”
Quale? Quella marrone?
“Which one? The brown one?”
No, quella gialla.
“No, the yellow one. I want to buy new clothes for our summer holiday.”
Quando parti? A giugno o a luglio?
“When are you going? In June or July?”
“No, le nostre vacanze sono ad agosto. Andremo in spiaggia. Spero che faccia bel tempo. "
“No, our holiday is in August. We're going to the beach. I hope that the weather will be good.”
Entrano nel negozio.
They enter the shop.
Anna, guarda!
“Anna, look! The trousers and the T shirt are both orange. Would you dress like this?”
Oh no, mai! Sono troppo grassa per quelli. Ti piacciono questi jeans neri?
“Oh, no, never! I'm too fat for that. Do you like these black jeans?”
Sì, mi piacciono - e sembrerai così magra ed elegante.
“Yes, I do like them - and you'll look so slim and stylish in them.”
“I'll also buy a new shirt with long sleeves for Ben.”
Quella? Un bel blu, vero?
“This one? It's a nice blue, isn’t it?”
“Yes, it is fashionable, but it might be too big for him?”
No, è una taglia diciassette. Indossa sempre una sedici o diciassette. Potrei anche comprargli una nuova cintura.
“No, it's size seventeen. He always wears sixteen or seventeen. I could also buy a new belt for him.”
Non credo che le vendano qui.
“I don’t think they sell them here.”
Anna pays for the jeans and the shirt and they leave the shop.
È ora di pranzo e ho davvero fame adesso. Pensi che vendano panini a quel bar?
“It's time for lunch and I'm hungry now. Do you think they sell sandwiches at the bar here?”
Si, li vendono.
“Yes, they do.”
The bar is next to the park. They sit down at a table. A waiter comes and they order sandwiches and black tea.
Dopo pranzo, chiedono il conto.
After lunch they ask for the bill.
Tredici euro e dieci centesimi, per favore. "
“Thirteen euros and ten cents, please.”
Sophia gives him a 20 euro note and he gives her the change.
Arrivederci.
“Goodbye.”
Ciao.
“Bye.”
