A1 The birthday 

Anna e Ben moram juntos em seu primeiro apartamento. Ben é jornalista e Anna estuda economia.

Anna and Ben are living together in their first flat. Ben is a journalist and Anna studies economics.

Anna vai visitar a família de Ben.

Anna is visiting Ben’s family.

Eles dirigem até a casa dos pais dele de carro.

They drive to his parents' house by car.

Hoje é o aniversário do irmão mais novo de Ben, Chris.

Today is the birthday of Ben’s little brother, Chris.

A mãe de Ben abre a porta.

Ben’s mother opens the door. 

“Olá, mamãe!” 

“Hello Mum!”

“Olá, Ben! Olá, Anna!”  

“Hello Ben! Hello Anna!”

“Oi, Sra. Dast! Obrigada por ter me convidado hoje.” 

“Hi, Mrs Dast! Thank you for inviting me today.”

“Claro, Anna! Nós estamos felizes em conhecê-la. Ben fala muito sobre você.” 

“Of course, Anna! We're happy to meet you. Ben talks a lot about you.”

Eles entram. O Sr. Dast está na sala de estar. Ele coloca música.

They go inside. Mr Dast is in the living room. He puts on music.

“Olá, papai! O que você está fazendo?” 

“Hello Dad! What are you doing?”

“Ben, onde está o CD? Ele não está no aparelho de CD.” 

“Ben, where's the CD? It's not in the CD player.”

“Querido, esta é Anna, a namorada de Ben.” 

“Darling, this is Anna, Ben’s girlfriend.”

“Oh, me desculpe. Eu não a vi.   Boa tarde, Anna! Como você está?” 

“Oh, I’m sorry. I didn't see her. Good afternoon, Anna, how are you?”

“Eu estou bem, obrigada. E você?“

“Thank you, I'm well. And you?”

“Muito bem, obrigado!“

“Very well, thanks!”

Ben ajuda a mãe a fazer café na cozinha. Então eles vão lá fora para se sentar no jardim.

Ben helps his mother to make coffee in the kitchen. Then they go outside to sit in the garden.

O pai de Ben traz o bolo de aniversário. Eles começam a cantar ‘Parabéns a você’.

Ben’s father brings the birthday cake. They start to sing 'Happy Birthday'.

Chris tem um novo telefone, que ele recebeu como presente de aniversário.

Chris has a new phone, which he got as a birthday present.

Ben dá a ele um DVD.

Ben gives him a DVD.

“Feliz Aniversário! Aqui está algo meu e de Anna.” 

“Happy Birthday! Here's something from Anna and me.”

“Obrigado, Ben. Você é o melhor! É incrível. As outras crianças da escola também têm.” 

“Thanks, Ben. You're the best! This is great. The other children at school have it, too.”

“Espero que você goste do filme. Eu o vi no cinema”. 

“I hope you like the movie. I've seen it in the cinema.”
