A2 The office

Ben trabalha para um jornal na cidade. Depois da universidade, ele começou seu trabalho no "Notícias da cidade".

Ben is working for a newspaper in the city. After university, he started his job at ’City News’.

Ele gosta de escrever e está trabalhando em diferentes tipos de histórias.

He enjoys writing and is working on different kinds of stories.

Normalmente, ele começa seu dia às nove horas da manhã. Quinta-feira ele chega cedo, porque tem uma reunião às oito da manhã.

He usually starts his day at nine o'clock in the morning. Thursday he arrives early because he has a meeting at 8 a.m.

Ele vai para a cozinha e encontra Laura, que trabalha com ele.

He goes to the kitchen and meets Laura, who works with him.

“Bom dia, Laura. Você está pronta para a reunião de agora? "

“Good morning, Laura. Are you ready for the meeting now?”

“Oi Ben! Não, eu preciso de um café. Estou cansada. Ontem esqueci de ir ao banco e hoje de manhã me levantei às seis horas para ir até lá.” 

“Hi Ben! No, I need a coffee. I'm tired. Yesterday I forgot to go to the bank and this morning I got up at six o’clock to go there.”

Eles tomam café com biscoitos e vão para a sala de reuniões.

They take coffee and biscuits and go to the meeting room.

O chefe deles está falando sobre novos projetos. Ben faz anotações com um lápis.

Their boss is talking about new projects. Ben takes notes with a pencil.

“Laura, quero um artigo curto sobre a fábrica que será fechada na próxima semana.” 

“Laura, I want a short article about the factory which closes next week.”

“Oh sim, isto é importante. Vou escrever sobre os trabalhadores.” 

“Oh yes, that's important. I'll write about the workers.”

“Obrigado, Laura! Ben, nesta semana, você vai trabalhar para a nossa seção de esportes. Eles precisam da sua ajuda. Alguns jogadores de basquete estão chegando para o jogo da próxima segunda-feira e também temos ingressos para um jogo de futebol na terça-feira.“

“Thank you, Laura! Ben, this week you'll work for our sport section. They need your help. Some basketball players are coming for the game next Monday and we also have tickets for the football game on Tuesday.”

“Muito obrigado! Gosto muito de escrever sobre esporte.” 

“Thank you so much! I like writing about sport so much.”

Quando eles saem da sala após a reunião, Laura pergunta a Ben:

As they leave the room after the meeting, Laura asks Ben:

“Você realmente gosta de sempre escrever sobre esporte? É tão entediante.” 

“Do you really like to always write about sport? It's so boring.”

“Você gosta de escrever sobre sapatos? "

“Do you like to write about shoes?”

“Oh, Ben, sério?” 

“Oh Ben, really?”

“Ora, como você se sente quando escreve sobre sapatos?” Ben pergunta novamente.

“Well, how do you feel when you write about shoes?” Ben asks her again.

“Não é a coisa mais importante do mundo? Eu amo isso.” Laura ri.

“Isn’t that the most important thing in the world? I love it!” Laura laughs.

O chefe deles olha para eles e diz:

Their boss looks at them and says:

“O que é tão engraçado, Ben? Pegue sua jaqueta e vá até a bilheteria. Está aberta agora, mas estará fechada em breve. "

“What's so funny, Ben? Take your jacket and go to the box office. It's open now, but will be closed soon.”

“Ok, chefe, eu estou saindo agora mesmo.” 

“Alright, boss, I'm leaving right now.”

Ben vai para sua mesa, pega seu celular e sai do escritório.

Ben goes to his desk, takes his mobile and leaves the office.
