 A6 At the hotel

Anna e Ben estão viajando juntos.

Anna and Ben are travelling together.

Eles vão para o mar e ficarão lá por quatorze noites. Eles querem andar pelo campo e também vão jogar tênis.

They are going to the sea and will stay there for fourteen nights. They want to go walking in the countryside and will also play tennis. 

Eles pegam um táxi para o hotel. Eles recebem as chaves do quarto e carregam suas malas para lá.

They take a taxi to the hotel. They get the keys for their room and carry their bags to it.

O quarto é limpo e há uma cama de casal. Há também um banheiro com chuveiro e vaso sanitário.

The room is clean and has a double bed. It also has a bathroom with a shower and a toilet.

“Olha, você pode ver os barcos lá fora”. 

“Look, you can see the boats outside.”

“Você acha que o hotel tem piscina? "

“Do you think the hotel has a swimming pool?”

“Não tem. Mas podemos nadar no mar”.

“No, it doesn't. But we can swim in the sea.”

“Sério? Fazia muito frio na semana passada. Eu acho que vai ser tão frio quanto no inverno".

“Really? It was very cold last week. I think it'll be as cold as in winter.”

“Vou tentar mesmo assim!” 

“I'll try it anyway!”

Eles descem as escadas do segundo andar até o andar térreo e saem do hotel. Existem algumas cadeiras no jardim do hotel. Ben pega o celular para verificar seus emails.

They are going down the stairs from the second floor to the ground floor and leave the hotel. In the hotel garden are some chairs. Ben takes his mobile phone to look at his emails.

“Ben, estamos de férias! Esqueça a internet e seu trabalho”. 

“Ben, we're on holiday! Forget the internet and your work.”

“Só um minuto, Anna. Estou aguardando uma resposta do meu chefe”. 

“Just a minute, Anna. I'm waiting for an answer from my boss.”

Anna está entediada. Ela pega o livro e começa a ler enquanto Ben responde aos emails. Então ela pega uma caneta para escrever uma carta.

Anna is bored. She takes her book and starts to read while Ben is answering emails. Then she takes a pen to write a letter.

Um homem entra no jardim com seu filho e filha e eles começam a jogar uma bola. A menina não pega a bola e a procura entre as árvores. Está muito quente ao sol. O menino começa a chorar, mas sua irmã ri.

A man comes into the garden with his son and daughter and they start to throw a ball. The little girl does not catch the ball and is looking for it between the trees. It is getting too hot in the sun. The boy begins to cry but his sister laughs.

Ben pergunta se ele pode pegar emprestado o tabuleiro de xadrez.

Ben asks whether he can borrow their chess board.

“Anna, jogue xadrez contra mim”. 

“Anna, play chess against me.”

“Não, obrigada. Eu acredito que você é muito melhor do que eu”. 

“No, thanks. I believe you're much better than I am.”

“Oh, vamos lá, isso não é desculpa. Você deveria tentar ganhar.” 

“Oh, come on, that's no excuse. You should try to win.”
