A7 At the restaurant

Anna e Ben estão na praia a tarde toda.

Anna and Ben have been at the beach all afternoon.

Ben olha para o relógio e diz para Anna:

Ben looks at his watch and tells Anna:

“É hora do jantar. Podemos comer uma pizza no restaurante acima da delegacia!"

“It's dinner time. We can eat pizza in the restaurant above the police station!”

“Não, Ben! Eu quero uma boa refeição hoje. Nós sempre comemos pizza”. 

“No, Ben! I want a nice meal today. We always have pizza.”

“Você tem razão, desculpe! Que tipo de refeição você quer? Peixe ou carne?” 

“You're right, sorry! What kind of food would you like? Fish or meat?”

“Podemos ir ao restaurante de peixe perto do rio. "

“We can go to the fish restaurant by the river.”

“Ah, eu me lembro do lugar, mas é muito caro, não é?” 

“Ah, I remember the place, but it's very expensive, isn't it?”

“Esta é a nossa última noite aqui, vamos lá! Eu tenho o endereço aqui”. 

“It's our last evening here, let’s do it! I have the address here.”

“Temos dinheiro suficiente? Eu não tenho dinheiro, você tem?"

“Do we have enough money? I don't have cash, do you?”

“Não muito, mas não tem problema. Podemos pagar com cartão de crédito ou cheque”. 

“Not much, but never mind. We can pay by credit card or by cheque.”

No restaurante, eles se sentam em uma mesa para dois. Um homem com um bigode grande toca guitarra.

At the restaurant, they sit at a table for two. A man with a big moustache plays the guitar.

O jovem garçom traz os cardápios e coloca sal e pimenta na mesa deles.

The young waiter brings the menus and puts salt and pepper on their table.

Eles pedem água mineral porque estão com muita sede.

They order mineral water because they are both very thirsty.

“Você escolheu?” 

“Have you chosen?”

“Gostaria de sopa de legumes e depois carne de porco com arroz.” 

“I would like the vegetable soup and the pork with rice afterwards.”

“Também vou de sopa e depois frango assado com feijão branco”. 

“I'll have the soup, too, and then the roasted chicken with white beans.”

O garçom também traz uma cesta de pão.

The waiter also brings a bread basket.

Eles olham para os clientes ricos no restaurante.

They watch the rich guests in the restaurant.

“Quanto eles têm que ganhar para vir aqui várias vezes por mês?” 

“How much do they earn to come here several times a month?”

“Mais do que nós”. 

“More than we do”

Após o jantar, o garçom traz a conta e eles pagam com cartão de débito.

After dinner, the waiter brings their bill and they pay by debit card.

“Boa noite e obrigado pelo jantar”. 

“Good night, and thank you for the dinner.”

“Boa noite!” 

“Good night.”
