Im Krankenhaus

When Ben arrives at home he sees that Anna is clearly not well and he is worried about her.

Als Ben nach Hause kommt, sieht er, dass es Anna eindeutig nicht gut geht und er sorgt sich um sie.

“What happened? You have to send me a text message if you are ill.”

„Was ist passiert? Du musst mir eine SMS schicken, wenn du krank bist.“

“I don't know, I just feel sick. It might have been the melon or the lettuce salad I have eaten at midday or the sweets from yesterday. I felt not too bad earlier but now I was nearly falling down.”

„Ich weiß nicht, ich fühl mich einfach schlecht. Es könnte die Melone oder der Eisberg-Salat am Mittag gewesen sein oder die Süßigkeiten gestern. Erst ging es mir nicht schlecht, aber jetzt bin ich fast umgefallen.“

“Maybe a virus? Do you have a headache? Fever or a cough?”

„Vielleicht ein Virus? Hast du Kopfschmerzen? Fieber oder Husten?“

“No, I am not coughing and my head is also fine.”

„Nein, ich huste nicht und mein Kopf ist auch in Ordnung.“

“We should go to the hospital. Can you move?”

„Wir sollten ins Krankenhaus fahren. Kannst du dich bewegen?“

“Yes, but do not leave me alone.”

„Ja, aber lass mich nicht alleine.“

“Can you change your clothes? I will take your purse and your wallet. What else do you need?”

„Kannst du dich umziehen? Ich nehme deine Tasche und dein Portemonnaie. Was brauchst du noch?“

“Perhaps my raincoat or an umbrella? There will be a thunderstorm today.”

„Vielleicht meinen Regenmantel oder einen Regenschirm. Es soll heute ein Gewitter geben.“

They arrive at the hospital reception and Ben puts Anna’s personal details on the form. He gives the receptionist the form and Anna’s driving licence. A friendly nurse arrives and tells them it will take an hour until a doctor is available.

Sie kommen am Empfang des Krankenhauses an und Ben trägt Annas persönliche Daten in ein Formular ein. Er gibt der Rezeptionistin das Formular und Anna’s Führerschein. Eine freundliche Krankenschwester kommt und sagt ihnen, dass es eine Stunde dauern wird, bis ein Arzt verfügbar ist.

Anna is a bit unhappy about that but lies down. Ben brings her a blanket and a bottle of water.

Anna ist ein bisschen unzufrieden damit, aber legt sich hin. Ben bringt ihr eine Decke und eine Flasche Wasser.

Fortunately, Dr. Sall comes after only 30 minutes. He smiles and calls Anna by her first name.

Zum Glück kommt Dr. Sall schon nach nur 30 Minuten. Er lächelt und spricht Anna mit ihrem Vornamen an.

“You are Anna, right? The nurse gave me your blood test results, but they are all negative. What kind of pain do you have?”

„Du bist Anna, richtig? Die Krankenschwester hat mir die Ergebnisse deines Bluttests gegeben, aber sie sind alle negativ. Was für Schmerzen hast du?“

“I have a strong pain on the left side of the face, from the cheek to the brain.”

„Ich habe starke Schmerzen auf der linken Seite des Gesichts, von der Wange bis zum Gehirn.“

The doctor examines her. When he touches her cheek she starts screaming.

Der Arzt untersucht sie. Als er ihre Wange berührt, schreit sie.

“I think the pain comes from a tooth. Did you have any toothache?”

„Ich denke, der Schmerz kommt von einem Zahn. Hattest du Zahnschmerzen?“

“Not really, but it hurt when I touched it with the toothbrush this morning.”

„Nicht wirklich, aber es tat weh, als ich heute morgen mit der Zahnbürste daran gekommen bin.“

“You need to see a dentist quickly. This could get worse. Can your partner drive you there?”

„Du musst schnell zum Zahnarzt. Das kann schlimmer werden. Kann dein Partner dich dorthin fahren?“

“Yes, of course, I will accompany her. I just have to inform the others.”

„Ja, natürlich werde ich sie begleiten. Ich muss nur schnell den anderen Bescheid sagen.“

“I am so sorry, Ben, I am spoiling everything for you. I know tonight is your handball match.”

"Das tut mir so leid, Ben, ich verderbe dir alles. Ich weiß, dass du heute Abend dein Handballspiel hast.“

“Above all, it is important now that you get better.”

„Vor allem ist es jetzt wichtig, dass du wieder gesund wirst.“
