B12 A caminhada

The hike

Hoje, o despertador toca cedo. Anna e Ben decidiram fazer uma caminhada. O clima está bom, mas há risco de tempestade durante a tarde.

Today the alarm clock rings early. Anna and Ben have decided to go hiking. The weather is good but there is a risk of storms in the afternoon.

Ben abre as cortinas, puxa o edredom de Anna e lhe dá um beijo no nariz.

Ben opens the curtains, pulls the duvet away from Anna and kisses her on the nose.

“Eu estava sonhando com um namorado gentil.” Anna mantém os olhos fechados e puxa o cobertor de volta sobre a cabeça.

“I was just dreaming about a kind boyfriend!” Anna keeps her eyes shut and pulls the blanket back over her head.

“Um dia você encontrará um, então ficará triste e sentirá falta do entusiasmo que trago à sua vida."

“One day you will find one and then you will be sad and miss the excitement I bring to your life.”

Ben começa a arrumar seu kit de caminhada e limpa suas botas de caminhada sujas. Ele pega um suéter para a noite. Anna também pega um moletom da gaveta e procura seu boné.

Ben starts packing his hiking kit and cleans his dirty hiking boots. He takes a sweater for the evening. Anna also takes a jumper from the drawer and looks for her cap.

No carro, Anna coloca os óculos escuros e prende o cinto de segurança. Ela adormece novamente enquanto Ben dirige.

In the car, Anna puts on her sunglasses and fastens her seatbelt. She then falls asleep again while Ben drives.

Eles chegam à beira da floresta e estacionam lá. Um helicóptero está localizado em um grande círculo no final do estacionamento.

They arrive at the edge of the forest and park there. A helicopter is located on a large circle at the end of the parking.

Anna teme que ela não esteja em forma o suficiente para a caminhada.

Anna is worried whether she is fit enough for the hike.

“Não se preocupe! Existem algumas pequenas colinas ao sul daqui. Elas não são íngremes, qualquer um pode escalá-las. A vista do topo é ótima. Eu trouxe uma lanterna e podemos explorar as cavernas da região.” 

“Don’t worry! There are some small hills south of here. They are not steep, anyone can climb them. The view from the peak is great. I have brought a pocket lamp and we can explore the caves in the area.”

Eles veem um lago com um sinal de "Proibida a pesca" através de uma brecha nas árvores. No lado oposto, um homem senta-se em uma rocha ao lado de um fogão a gás e assa um peixe.

They see a lake with a ‘no fishing’ sign through a gap in the trees. On the opposite side a man sits on a rock next to a gas stove and grills a fish.

Quando Anna vê uma aranha, ela cai de costas e corta o joelho em uma pedra. Ben se ajoelha ao lado dela.

When Anna sees a spider, she falls down, lands on her bottom and cuts her knee on a rock. Ben kneels next to her.

“Está doendo?” Ben pergunta com um certo nervosismo em sua voz.

“Does it hurt?” Ben asks with slight nervousness in his voice.

“Não, mas meu coração está batendo rápido. Estamos tão perto do penhasco. "

“No, but my heart is beating fast. We are so close to the cliff.”

“Sim, não foi sua ideia mais brilhante cair aqui.” 

“Yes, it wasn’t your most brilliant idea to fall here.”

Ele pega um curativo da mochila e o enrola no tornozelo.

He takes a bandage from his rucksack and wraps it around her ankle.

“Relaxe, tudo ficará bem. Você pode se levantar sozinha ou devo ajudá-la? Estamos mesmo perigosamente perto do penhasco aqui, não escorregue.” 

“Just relax, everything will be fine. Can you get up on your own or should I give you a hand? We are really dangerously close to the cliff here, be careful to not slip.”

“Você poderia me salvar?” Anna provoca Ben e ele a levanta. Ela se apoia nele enquanto tenta andar. Seu tornozelo está tensionado e inchado, mas ela pode andar.”

“You could rescue me?” Anna teases Ben and he lifts her up. She leans on him and tries out whether she can walk. Her ankle is strained and swollen but she can walk.

Ben pega um pedaço de madeira e dá para Anna, para que ela possa usá-lo como bengala.

Ben takes a piece of wood and gives it to Anna so that she can use it as a walking stick.

Quando eles voltam para o carro, o para-brisa está quebrado. Um galho caiu no carro e também danificou a pintura.

When they get back to the car the windscreen is broken. A branch has fallen onto their car and has also damaged the paint.

“Com sorte, o seguro pagará por isso, a extensão do dano é grande.” 

“Hopefully the insurance will pay for this. The extent of the damage is extensive.”

Ben olha furiosamente para o carro.

Ben looks furiously at the car.

“Eu não deveria ter estacionado debaixo da árvore. Tem alguns galhos mortos. Foi um mau julgamento. "

“I should not have parked beneath the tree. It has some dead branches. That was bad judgment.”

“Você não tem culpa. Isso acontece o tempo todo e até nos arredores da cidade.” 

“You are not at fault. This happens all the time and even on the outskirts of the city.”

“É só muito inconveniente no momento. Eu poderia ter feito a atualização para o novo modelo. Além disso, consertar o pára-brisa não é tão simples, ele precisa ser completamente substituído. "

“It is just very inconvenient right now, I could have done the upgrade to the new model. Moreover, repairing the windscreen is not that straightforward, it needs to be completely replaced.”
