L'Escursione

The hike

Oggi la sveglia suona presto. Anna e Ben hanno deciso di fare un'escursione. Il tempo è bello ma c'è il rischio di una tempesta nel pomeriggio.

Today the alarm clock rings early. Anna and Ben have decided to go hiking. The weather is good but there is a risk of storms in the afternoon.

Ben apre le tende, tira via il piumone da Anna e le dà un bacio sul naso.

Ben opens the curtains, pulls the duvet away from Anna and kisses her on the nose.

Stavo solo sognando un fidanzato gentile. Anna tiene gli occhi chiusi e tira indietro la coperta sopra la sua testa.

“I was just dreaming about a kind boyfriend!” Anna keeps her eyes shut and pulls the blanket back over her head.

Un giorno ne troverai uno e poi sarai triste e sentirai la mancanza del divertimento che porto nella tua vita. "

“One day you will find one and then you will be sad and miss the excitement I bring to your life.”

Ben inizia a mettere in valigia il suo kit da trekking e pulisce le sue scarpe da trekking sporche. Prende un felpa per la sera. Anche Anna prende un maglione dal cassetto e cerca il suo berretto.

Ben starts packing his hiking kit and cleans his dirty hiking boots. He takes a sweater for the evening. Anna also takes a jumper from the drawer and looks for her cap.

In macchina, Anna indossa gli occhiali da sole e allaccia la cintura di sicurezza. Si addormenta di nuovo mentre Ben guida.

In the car, Anna puts on her sunglasses and fastens her seatbelt. She then falls asleep again while Ben drives.

Arrivano ai margini della foresta e parcheggiano lì. Un elicottero si trova su un grande cerchio alla fine del parcheggio.

They arrive at the edge of the forest and park there. A helicopter is located on a large circle at the end of the parking.

Anna è preoccupata di non essere abbastanza in forma per l'escursione.

Anna is worried whether she is fit enough for the hike.

Non ti preoccupare! Ci sono alcune piccole colline a sud di qui. Non sono ripide, chiunque può scalarle. La vista dalla cima è fantastica. Ho portato una lampada portatile e possiamo esplorare le grotte in quell'area.

“Don’t worry! There are some small hills south of here. They are not steep, anyone can climb them. The view from the peak is great. I have brought a pocket lamp and we can explore the caves in the area.”

Vedono un lago con un cartello "Vietato Pescare" attraverso uno spazio tra gli alberi. Sul lato opposto, un uomo si siede su una roccia accanto a un fornello a gas e griglia un pesce.

They see a lake with a ‘no fishing’ sign through a gap in the trees. On the opposite side a man sits on a rock next to a gas stove and grills a fish.

Quando Anna vede un ragno, cade, atterra sul sedere e si taglia un ginocchio su una roccia. Ben si  inginocchia accanto a lei.

When Anna sees a spider, she falls down, lands on her bottom and cuts her knee on a rock. Ben kneels next to her.

Ti fa male? Chiede con leggero nervosismo nella sua voce.

“Does it hurt?” Ben asks with slight nervousness in his voice.

No, ma il mio cuore batte veloce. Siamo così vicini al precipizio. 

“No, but my heart is beating fast. We are so close to the cliff.”

Sì, non è stata la tua idea più brillante cadere qui.

“Yes, it wasn’t your most brilliant idea to fall here.”

Prende una benda dal suo zaino e la avvolge attorno alla sua caviglia.

He takes a bandage from his rucksack and wraps it around her ankle.

Rilassati, andrà tutto bene. Puoi alzarti da sola o dovrei darti una mano? Siamo davvero pericolosamente vicini al precipizio qui, fai attenzione a non scivolare.

“Just relax, everything will be fine. Can you get up on your own or should I give you a hand? We are really dangerously close to the cliff here, be careful to not slip.”

Potresti salvarmi? Anna prende in giro Ben e lui la solleva. Lei si appoggia a lui mentre cerca di capire se può camminare. La sua caviglia è slogata e gonfia ma può camminare.

“You could rescue me?” Anna teases Ben and he lifts her up. She leans on him and tries out whether she can walk. Her ankle is strained and swollen but she can walk.

Ben prende un pezzo di legno e lo dà ad Anna in modo che possa usarlo come un bastone.

Ben takes a piece of wood and gives it to Anna so that she can use it as a walking stick.

Quando tornano in macchina, il parabrezza è rotto. Un ramo è caduto sulla loro auto ed ha anche danneggiato la vernice.

When they get back to the car the windscreen is broken. A branch has fallen onto their car and has also damaged the paint.

Spero che l'assicurazione paghi per questo, l'entità del danno è estesa. 

“Hopefully the insurance will pay for this. The extent of the damage is extensive.”

Ben guarda furiosamente la macchina.

Ben looks furiously at the car.

“Non avrei dovuto parcheggiare sotto l'albero. Ha alcuni rami morti. E' stata una pessima decisione . "

“I should not have parked beneath the tree. It has some dead branches. That was bad judgment.”

Non sei in torto. Queste cose accadono di continuo e anche nella periferia della città.

“You are not at fault. This happens all the time and even on the outskirts of the city.”

Al momento è molto fastidioso. Avrei potuto passare al nuovo modello. Inoltre, riparare il parabrezza non è così immediato deve essere completamente sostituito.

“It is just very inconvenient right now, I could have done the upgrade to the new model. Moreover, repairing the windscreen is not that straightforward, it needs to be completely replaced.”
