Die Möbel

Sophia is asking her friend Anna for advice. She moves to a new flat and she has to buy furniture because her landlord has not furnished it. Her new apartment, which she will share with her boyfriend Marc, has seventy square meters.

Sophia bittet ihre Freundin Anna um Rat. Sie zieht in eine neue Wohnung um und sie muss Möbel kaufen, da ihr Vermieter die Wohnung nicht möbliert hat. Ihr neues Apartment, das sie mit ihrem Freund Marc teilen wird, hat siebzig Quadratmeter.

Anna und Sophia treffen sich im Kaufhaus in der Stadt.

“Thank you for giving me advice on the furniture. Your flat looks so nice. The design is lovely and I want ours to be similar.”

„Danke, dass du mir Ratschläge zu den Möbeln gibst. Deine Wohnung sieht so gut aus. Das Design ist entzückend und ich möchte dass unsere ähnlich wird.“

“Yours is much bigger than mine. You probably will have to spend a lot of money. You can even keep it when you get married and have a baby.”

„Deine ist viel größer als meine. Du wirst wahrscheinlich viel Geld ausgeben müssen. Aber du kannst sie sogar behalten, wenn Du heiratest und ein Baby bekommst.“

“Oh Anna! Stop! Let us shop now. For the sitting room we need some shelves, a bookcase, a sofa and an armchair. There is carpet, so we will not need rugs. I will also need some basic pillows and towels.”

„Oh Anna! Hör auf!“ Lass uns jetzt einkaufen! Für das Wohnzimmer brauchen wir einige Regale, ein Bücherregal, ein Sofa und einen Sessel. Wir haben Teppichboden, deswegen brauchen wir keine Teppiche. Ich werde auch ein paar einfache Kopfkissen und Handtücher brauchen.“

“I think they have a good variety here. Let’s have a look downstairs after we have decided on the furniture. Will you have a washing machine and a dishwasher or do you have to do it by hand?”

„Ich denke, sie haben hier eine gute Auswahl. Lass uns unten schauen, nachdem wir uns für die Möbel entschieden haben. Hast du eine Waschmaschine und einen Geschirrspüler oder musst du das von Hand machen?“

“We will have both! They consume extra electricity but they are so useful. The kitchen has a big fridge. No more fast food for us, I’ll become a good cook!”

„Wir werden beides haben! Sie verbrauchen zusätzlichen Strom, aber sie sind so praktisch. In der Küche ist ein großer Kühlschrank. Kein Fast Food mehr für uns, ich werde eine gute Köchin werden!“

“You have to invite us soon!”

„Du musst uns bald einladen.”

“Of course! Do you know where the furniture department is?”

„Aber sicher! Weißt du, wo die Möbelabteilung ist?“

“It’s on the upper level. Let’s take the lift.”

„Sie ist auf der oberen Etage. Lass uns den Aufzug nehmen.“

They are looking at the furniture.

Sie schauen sich die Möbel an.

“Do you like this sofa? I think it will be good to lie on!”

„Gefällt dir dieses Sofa? Ich denke man kann gut darauf liegen.“

“I do, but we only have two metres in the corner of the sitting room at the window”

„Ja, aber wir haben nur zwei Meter in der Ecke des Wohnzimmers beim Fenster.“

“That is a pity, then this sofa is 60 centimetres too long.”

„Das ist schade, dann ist das Sofa 60 Zentimeter zu lang.“

“How about this one? The fabric is so soft!”

„Wie wäre es mit diesem? Der Stoff ist so weich!“

“The rest is not bad, but it is pink!”

„Der Rest ist nicht schlecht, aber es ist rosa!“

“Look at this here. You can also buy it in purple. Marc would surely like that.”

„Schau dir dieses hier an! Du kannst es auch in lila kaufen. Marc würde das sicher mögen.“

They look at each other and start laughing.

Sie sehen einander an und fangen an zu lachen.

“I would like to have a piano, but we do not have enough space for that.”

„Ich hätte gerne ein Klavier, aber dafür haben wir nicht genug Platz.“

“You could buy a keyboard instead, they are smaller but you barely hear the difference. Do you know how to play? What kind of music do you like?”

„Du könntest stattdessen ein Keyboard kaufen, die sind kleiner aber man hört den Unterschied kaum. Kannst du spielen? Welche Art von Musik magst du?“

“All, from classical music to Jazz. I practised a lot when I was a kid.”

„Alles, von klassischer Musik bis Jazz. Ich habe viel geübt, als ich Kind war.“

“I wish I had learned to play the piano too. I did a lot of sports as a child. I played badminton and table tennis.”

„Ich wünschte, ich hätte auch Klavier spielen gelernt. Ich habe als Kind viel Sport gemacht. Ich habe Badminton und Tischtennis gespielt.“

“Are you still doing that?”

„Machst du das immer noch?“

“No, today I only go swimming at the sports centre or go running if the weather is nice.”

„Nein, heute gehe ich nur im Sportzentrum schwimmen oder ich gehe joggen wenn das Wetter gut ist.“

“I also like to be out in the nature. It is very healthy. I played volleyball in college, but unfortunately I do not have time to do it anymore.”

„Ich mag es auch, draußen in der Natur zu sein. Das ist sehr gesund. Ich habe in der Berufsschule Volleyball gespielt, aber leider habe ich keine Zeit mehr dafür.“
