B5 Зоопарк

The Zoo

Директор школы Криса организовал однодневную поездку для школьников в возрасте от восьми до тринадцати лет. Они едут в зоопарк, который находится в тридцати километрах отсюда. Их учителя биологии и истории уже ждут их на автобусной остановке. Это приключение для сорока учеников, которые рады не быть в классе.

The headteacher at Chris' school has organised a day trip for the schoolchildren aged eight to thirteen. They go to a zoo which is thirty kilometres away. Their biology and history teachers are already waiting for them at the bus stop. It is an adventure for the forty pupils who are happy to not be in their classroom.

Учителя отмечают имя каждого ребёнка в своём списке. Было очень туманно, но теперь туман рассеялся, и только немного облачно.

The teachers tick off the name of each child on their list. It was very foggy, but now the fog is gone and it's only a bit cloudy.

Они подъезжают к автостоянке зоопарка. Учителя дают продавцу конверт с билетами.

They arrive at the car park of the zoo. The teachers give the salesperson an envelope with their tickets.

Дети видят медведей, слонов, обезьян, львов, тигров и жирафов. Затем они идут к клеткам с птицами, и Крису нравится большой орёл.

The kids see the bears, elephants, monkeys, lions, tigers and giraffes. Then they go to the bird cages and Chris likes the large eagle.

В обеденное время детям нужен перекус. В небольшом ресторане предлагают напитки и блюда из пасты. Учителя заказывают пасту со сливочным, грибным и луковым соусом. Других посетителей в ресторане нет, и повар подходит к их столу для разговора.

At lunchtime, the children want some snacks. There is a little restaurant which offers refreshments and pasta dishes. The teachers order pasta with cream, mushroom and onion sauce. There are no other customers in the restaurant and the chef comes over to their table for a chat.

«Сегодня ресторан пуст, но по выходным мы подаём девяносто блюд в час. Я продаю несколько килограммов стейков каждый день».

“Today the restaurant is empty, but on the weekends we are serving ninety meals per hour. I sell several kilos of steak every day.”

После обеда дети играют на игровой площадке.

After lunch, the children play at the playground.

Затем они идут в другую часть зоопарка, чтобы погладить животных поменьше, таких как пони и кролики. Смотритель зоопарка велит им вести себя тихо рядом с животными.

Then they go to another part of the zoo to pet the smaller animals, such as ponies and rabbits. A zoo keeper tells them to keep quiet close to the animals.

Две девочки попросили разрешения покататься на осле. Одна из девочек падает в грязь.

A couple of girls have asked for permission to ride on a donkey. One of the girls falls down into the dirt.

After some time, the teacher tells them:

«Боюсь, мы должны идти прямо к автобусу, становится поздно. Водитель уже за рулём и может получить штраф, если он не уедет сейчас».

“I am afraid we have to go directly to the bus, it is getting late. The driver is already behind the wheel and might get a fine if he doesn’t depart now.”
