Das Dinner

Sophia is giving a party in her new apartment.

Sophia gibt eine Party in ihrer neuen Wohnung.

“Welcome to my new home! I am glad everybody could come. I have opened a bottle of champagne for us.”

„Willkommen in meinem neuen Zuhause! Ich bin froh, dass ihr alle kommen konntet. Ich habe eine Flasche Champagner für uns geöffnet.“

“Wow, It’s like a cocktail reception. You are my favourite host.”

„Toll, das klingt ja wie ein Cocktailempfang. Du bist meine Lieblingsgastgeberin.“

“Thanks! I hope you will like the dinner. As a starter, I have made spicy lamb with aubergines and grilled duck for the main course.”

„Danke! Ich hoffe ihr werdet das Dinner mögen. Als Vorspeise habe ich scharfes Lamm mit Auberginen gemacht und für den Hauptgang gegrillte Ente.“

Anna smiles and says: “Your new flat is so pretty.”

Anna lächelt und sagt: „Deine neue Wohnung ist so hübsch.”

“Thank you! It slowly starts to feel like home.”

„Vielen Dank! Ich fühle mich langsam zu Hause hier.“

“Where did you find this wooden art piece?”

„Wo hast du denn dieses Holzkunstwerk gefunden?“

“It is not from a well-known artist. The painter plays golf with my parents. He only does this as a hobby. He also did the drawing on the other wall.”

„Es ist nicht von einem bekannten Künstler. Der Maler spielt Golf mit meinen Eltern. Er macht das nur als Hobby. Er hat auch die Zeichnung an der anderen Wand gemacht.“

“Do you have some sweet lemonade for me? I prefer not to drink alcohol tonight.”

„Hast du etwas süße Limonade für mich? Ich würde lieber heute Abend keinen Alkohol zu trinken.“

“Yes, no problem! I have alcoholic drinks but all kinds of soft drinks too, cola for example.”

„Ja, kein Problem! Ich habe alkoholische Getränke aber auch alle Arten von Erfrischungsge- tränken, wie zum Beispiel Cola.“

“Great, thank you!”

„Super, danke!“

“I made a carrot salad with vinegar and garlic oil. You just have to salt it a bit, else it will be tasteless. I did not have any salt at home.”

„Ich habe einen Salat mit Karotten, Essig und Knoblauchöl gemacht. Du musst nur noch salzen, sonst ist er ein bisschen geschmacklos. Ich hatte kein Salz mehr zu Hause.”

“Thank you! I have slices of fresh bread we can eat with it.”

„Danke! Ich habe ein paar Scheiben frisches Brot die wir dazu essen können.“

“The view is amazing, you really only see the sky. And the ceiling is so high.”

„Die Aussicht ist Wahnsinn. Man sieht wirklich nur den Himmel. Und die Decke ist so hoch.“

“Yes, the view is brilliant, especially towards the east. As long as there are no clouds in the sky you can even see the town centre. Marc is happy about the garage, he can put his motorbike there. He also bought a TV with a big screen, only the speakers are too loud for me. And I sometimes feel like the cleaner.”

„Ja, die Aussicht ist genial, besonders Richtung Osten. Solange es keine Wolken gibt, kann man sogar das Stadtzentrum sehen. Marc freut sich über die Garage. Er kann sein Motorrad dort abstellen. Er hat auch einen Fernseher mit grossem Bildschirm gekauft, nur die Lautsprecher sind mir zu laut. Und manchmal fühle ich mich wie die Putzfrau.”

“It is not fair that you are responsible for the cleaning.”

„Es ist nicht fair dass du für das Putzen zuständig bist.“

“We agreed that he covers more of the cost while I am still at uni. This will end as soon as possible when I get a job. I hate dust.”

„Wir haben uns darauf geeinigt, dass er mehr von den Kosten übernimmt, während ich noch an der Uni bin. Das endet aber so bald wie möglich wenn ich einen Job habe. Ich hasse Staub!“

“Do not feel bad about this. You have the luck that you can help one another like this.”

„Fühle dich nicht schlecht deswegen. Ihr habt Glück, dass ihr einander so helfen könnt.“

“Yes and Marc is really very generous. He works full-time as an accountant and rarely has enough energy to do something after work.”

„Ja und Marc ist sehr großzügig. Er arbeitet Vollzeit als Buchhalter und hat selten genug Energie, nach der Arbeit noch etwas zu tun.“
