C11 In Church

El sacerdote de la iglesia local acordó ser entrevistado después de misa. Ben entra en la iglesia. El interior de la histórica iglesia es luminoso pero también un poco viejo y polvoriento. El ambiente es tranquilo.

The priest from the local church has agreed to an interview after mass. Ben arrives at the church. The interior of the historic church is light but also a bit old and dusty. The atmosphere is peaceful.

Ben sits in a pew and listens to the prayers. He lowers his head and suddenly he starts to shed some tears. He remembers his last visit to the church and how devastated he was about the death of his grandfather. When he has to sneeze, an old lady next to him shakes her head and mumbles something silently to herself.

He looks around and admires the colourful sculptures and stone statues that surround him. He is particularly interested in the sculptures. It is confusing to see such imaginative objects in church.

A trumpet orchestra is performing and he whistles the tune. The old lady disapproves of that too.

Shortly afterwards, the service finishes and the priest comes over to him.

There's still no running water and the scale of the reconstruction is unquestionably enormous.”
