Ben and Anna have decided to blog about their lives. They are thinking about the audience they want to reach. Ben writes down a brief list of topics they could cover.

"We could do some backpacking trips - that's inexpensive. For example, we could go to the desert! Imagine what heavenly pictures we could take, maybe on a camel ride. I think you would look graceful on a camel, alone in the solitude of the desert with crystal clear skies."

“I know. Since the revolution, they put limits on tourist transportation. The country's not very hospitable anymore.

“Why are you trying to convince me of it? In case you forgot, I avoid uncomfortable trips today. My dad is a backpacker. It's something we did regularly when I was a child.”

“我忘了你是多么地讨厌度假營地。但是咱们资金有限。除此之外，我不知道怎么才能做到频繁的旅行。”   

“ Wǒ wàngle nǐ shì duōme de tǎoyàn dùjià yíngdì. Dànshì zánmen zījīn yǒuxiàn. Chú cǐ zhī wài, wǒ bù zhīdào zěnme cáinéng zuòdào pínfán de lǚxíng.”   

“I forgot how much you dislike campsites. But our funds are limited. I just have no idea how we could afford frequent trips otherwise.”

Wǒmen de yōushì shì nǐ xiě dé hěn hǎo. Qítā rén zhǐ fābiǎo piàoliang de túpiàn, dàn wǒmen yě kěyǐ fā yìxiē gèng yánsù de wénzhāng.”   

“We have to do a precise calculation and include all related costs as well. Let me attempt to find some cheap deals. I would just like a decent minimum standard, I don't need luxury. We could also have a broader range of topics instead of only focussing on tourism. Our advantage is that you're so  good at writing. Other people are only publishing pretty pictures but we can also post more serious articles.”

“你觉得读者对那种事会有兴趣吗？ ”  

“ Nǐ juédé dúzhě duì nà zhǒng shì huì yǒu xìngqù ma? ”  

“Do you think the readers are interested in that kind of thing?”

“很显然，我们必须试一试。”  

“ Hěn xiǎnrán, wǒmen bìxū shì yí shì.”  

“Obviously we have to find out.“

“我来管技术。我的新平板电脑有一个图像程序，我可以用它来设计图标。”  

“ Wǒ lái guǎn jìshù. Wǒ de xīn píngbǎn diànnǎo yǒu yígè túxiàng chéngxù, wǒ kěyǐ yòng tā lái shèjì túbiāo.”  

“I'll take care of the technology. My new tablet has a graphics software that I can use to design the logo.”

“那真是好极了。我讨厌做排版，但是你确实是一个天才的设计师。”   

“ Nà zhēn shi hǎojíle. Wǒ tǎoyàn zuò páibǎn, dànshì nǐ quèshí shì yígè tiāncái de shèjìshī.”   

“That would be terrific. I hate creating these types of layouts, but you're really a talented designer.”

“我们何时启动以及如何推广网站呢？” ”  

“ Wǒmen hé shí qǐdòng yǐjí rúhé tuīguǎng wǎngzhàn ne?” ”  

“When do we do the launch and how can we promote the site?”

“Personally, I think our best option is to advertise on social media. Lots of people are really addicted to that. Then we could post some witty comments or, better still, that picture I took at dawn during the trekking last week.”

“Let me edit it a bit. I think we can make the reflection of your profile in the water more vivid. Sites that belong to other bloggers do that heavily.”

“这是一个好的开始。咱们还是悠着点做吧。我的意见是,在是时候去想营销的事之前，我们需要首先上传更多的材料。”   

“ Zhè shì yígè hǎo de kāishǐ. Zánmen háishì yōu zhuó diǎn zuò ba. Wǒ de yìjiàn shì, zài shì shíhòu qù xiǎng yíngxiāo de shì zhīqián, wǒmen xūyào shǒuxiān shàngchuán gèng duō de cáiliào .”   

“That's a good start. Let's take it easy for now. My opinion is that it's time to upload more material, before we think about marketing.”

安娜起身在厨房柜台里拿了一个水罐，给她自己倒了一杯水。本也过来了，用水壶泡了茶。回到电脑前，本打字输入密码登录后，开始用谷歌搜索起来：

Anna gets up to fetch a jug from the kitchen counter and pours herself a glass of water. Ben joins her, puts on the kettle and makes tea.Back at the PC, Ben types in his password to log in and googles:

“你看这个网站。它有很多用户，而且他们还推送新闻简报。他们把网络摄像头带到不同的地点去进行录像，然后再在录音棚中编辑好。”  

“ Nǐ kàn zhège wǎngzhàn. Tā yǒu hěnduō yònghù, érqiě tāmen hái tuīsòng xīnwén jiǎnbào. Tāmen bǎ wǎngluò shèxiàngtóu dàidào bùtóng dì dìdiǎn qù jìnxíng lùxiàng, ránhòu zài zài lùyīn péng zhōng biānjí hǎo.”  

“Look at this website. It has a lot of users and they even send out a newsletter. They take their webcam to different locations and do video recordings there, and later edit them in their studio.”

Ben opens his browser from his desktop and looks for bookmarks.

“This site also has some interactive features. It might be a bit disorganised at first sight but the combination of these diverse stories with the commercials is ideal for consumers.”

“Yes, they're getting a very good mixture of sponsors, from telecommunications to regional car salesmen. That helps the growth of the site tremendously. They even have some advertisements from a gun manufacturer, but I think that would be unsuitable for our site.“
