C8 The Documentary

Ben foi convidado a entrevistar um cineasta que está na cidade. Ele chega ao set de filmagem com entusiasmo. Ele está ansioso para entrevistar o diretor que recentemente lançou um drama de sucesso - o melhor até agora.

Ben has been asked to interview a film-maker who is in town. He arrives at the film set excitedly. He is looking forward to interviewing the director who recently released a successful drama - his best yet.

“Sou repórter do Notícias da Cidade e estou aqui para ver o diretor.”

“I'm a reporter at City News and I'm here to see the director.”

A assistente dá uma olhada em suas anotações e morde o lábio.

The assistant glances at her notes and bites her lip.

“Eu não tenho você na minha lista. Quem marcou a data para isso? ”

“I don't have you on my list. Who set the date for this?”

“Talvez a secretária tenha entendido errado. Mas troquei emails com o diretor por dias sobre os temas. Não há dúvida de que ele está me aguardando. ”

“Maybe the secretary got it wrong. But I've exchanged emails with the director for days about the topics. There's no doubt that he's expecting me.”

“Ok, tudo bem, deixe-me anotar seu sobrenome e levá-lo ao diretor."

“Ok, fine, let me write down your surname and bring you to the director.”

Ben segue o guarda idoso até o set em que a equipe está trabalhando hoje. Um grupo de pessoas está em um gramado em frente a um antigo cortiço. Ben reconhece imediatamente o diretor, um homem de meia-idade, cabelos escuros.

Ben follows the elderly guard to the set on which the crew is working today. A bunch of people are on a lawn in front of an old tenement. Ben recognises the director, a middle-aged dark haired man, straight away.

Ele percebe a chegada de Ben e se aproxima para cumprimentá-lo. Eles apertam as mãos.

He notices Ben’s arrival and comes over to greet him. They shake hands.

“Você deve ser o Sr. Dast. Você chegou bem na hora, mas poderia esperar um momento enquanto terminamos esta cena? ”

“You must be Mr Dast. You've arrived right on time, but could you wait a moment while we finish this scene?”

“Sem problemas, vou esperar aqui.”

“No problem, I’ll wait over here.”

“Obrigado! Levará aproximadamente mais 15 minutos, então podemos bater um papo. ”

“Thank you! It'll take approximately another 15 minutes, then we can chat.”

Ben observa com fascinação enquanto a cena é filmada. Um homem vestido de carteiro foi identificado como espião inimigo. Ele usa uma máscara e fala gíria. Depois que um tiro é disparado, ele cai no chão e rola ladeira abaixo. Todos aplaudem e Ben aproveita a oportunidade para falar com o diretor.

Ben watches with fascination as the scene is filmed. A man, who is dressed as a postman, has been identified as an enemy spy. He wears a mask and speaks in slang. After a shot is fired, he falls to the ground and rolls down a slope. Everybody applauds and Ben grabs the opportunity to speak to the director.

“Isso foi muito impressionante.”

“That was very impressive.”

“Um verdadeiro suspense não é? Mas isso não é ficção, coisas assim realmente aconteceram, embora o público nem sempre saiba sobre elas. Acredite ou não, este espião estava de fato se escondendo na cidade há 20 anos e foi caçado antes que pudesse explodir este quarteirão com uma bomba. ”

“A real thriller, isn’t it? But this isn't fiction, things like these really happened, although the public doesn’t always learn about them. Believe it or not, this spy was indeed in hiding in town 20 years ago and was hunted down before he could blow up this block with a bomb.”

“Isso é chocante! Por que ele iria querer bombardear a habitação social? ”

“That's shocking! Why would he want to bomb social housing?”

“Nesse bloco havia uma loja de caridade, mas também um laboratório militar. Cientistas se encontraram secretamente lá e trabalharam em sua nova invenção em engenharia. Passo a passo eles trabalharam na reprodução de um satélite que poderia ser usado como arma. Eles pararam de trabalhar aqui depois que um trabalhador corrupto compartilhou informações confidenciais com a imprensa. Depois disso, houve uma onda de acusações e uma revisão completa foi ordenada. ”

“In this block, there was a charity shop but also a military laboratory. Scientists secretly met there and worked on their new invention in engineering. Step by step, they worked on the reproduction of a satellite which could be used as a weapon. They ceased work here after a corrupt worker shared confidential information with the press. After that, there was a wave of accusations and a full review was ordered.”

“Isso soa como ficção científica para mim. Que absurdo!”

“That sounds like science fiction to me. What nonsense!”

“Muitas dessas coisas estão escondidas do público. Existem pistas, mas geralmente passam despercebidas, caso contrário, teria sido um grande escândalo. ”

“A lot of these things are hidden from the public. There are hints but they usually go unnoticed, or else it would've been a big scandal.”
